Brunswick County CTP Public Involvement Update

The Brunswick County CTP is wrapping up and is ready for public involvement feedback. Here is a reminder of what the CTP is:

The Brunswick County Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) is a long-range plan, which identifies major transportation improvement needs and develops long term solutions for the next 25 to 30 years. The study is a joint effort with Brunswick County, Brunswick County Municipalities, the North Carolina Department of Transportation –Transportation Planning Division (NCDOT TPD), Grand Strands Area Transportation Study Metropolitan Planning Organization (GSATS MPO) and the Cape Fear Rural Planning Organization (CFRPO). The CTP study involves both government officials and the public to determine the area’s future transportation needs.

In-person public involvement sessions will be held in May. All meetings will begin at 5:00pm and conclude at 7:30pm. Specific locations and dates are below:

Tuesday May 2, 2023: Brunswick Senior Resources: 10050 Beach Dr SW, Calabash

Thursday May 4, 2023: Brunswick Community College Virginia Williamson Event Center: 150 College Road NE, Bolivia

Tuesday May 9, 2023: James Community Center: 4136 Southport-Supply Rd SE, St James

Virtual public involvement feedback will be open from May 1st – May 15th.

Administrative Note: Residents and homeowners of the Town of Caswell Beach should be aware that recommendations for a Park and Ride and Bicycle Lane are included in the Brunswick County Comprehensive Transportation Plan. These recommendations made by the Brunswick County CTP are not supported by the Town of Caswell Beach. Details may be found in the supporting documents below.
