  • Permits shall only be issued to Caswell Beach property owners. The permit shall include the name and telephone number of the property owner, the specific time/duration of the fire and beach access number.
  • A property owner shall be defined as the deedholder of the residence or its adult children at the age of 21 or older.
  • A refundable cash deposit of $300 shall be remitted to town at time of permit issuance and redeemed to permit holder the day after the fire by 12:00 p.m. Failure to return the beach to an “as before” condition as determined by the Town Manager or failure by permit holder to collect deposit from town within three normal administrative working days of fire event will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
  • Bonfires must be extinguished by 11 PM.
  • All fires are prohibited during turtle nesting season (May 1 through September 30) and if wind gusts are forecasted to be greater than 10 miles per hour.

  • Do they need to be on a leash and what times are they allowed?  Dogs not leashed, but under control of its owner, are permitted on the beach strand between the hours of dawn and 9:00 a.m.; additionally, from October 15 through March 15, dogs not leashed, but under control of its owner, are permitted on the beach strand. (§91.06)

It shall be unlawful for any person, group of persons, firm, or corporation to camp out within the town limits. CAMP OUT shall be defined as being the living out of doors from any permanent residential structure including the pitching and erecting of tents, lean-to's and other shelters erected for the purpose of living in as well as the use of any camper trailer, truck camper, self-contained motor camper unit, mobile home, or any other conveyance to be used for the purpose of habitation, other than a house, apartment, condominium, motel, or hotel. (§130.03)

Fishing is allowed on the beach during the day.

Handicapped Access is located at the public parking lot and the Lighthouse parking lot. There are no mats laid out at either parking lot.
